SOS and

SOS was formed in 2017 to fill a need to have organised activities for the senior members of our congregation. We welcome anyone who is retired, unemployed or just has a day off to come and join in these activities. They take place bi-monthly usually on the last Thursday & sometimes on a Wednesday. We organise transport for those who need it and usually car pool. This activity is also an outreach to friends and neighbours. Proposed 2026 Programme.

THE FIRST SOS OUTING in 2026 is happening on Thursday 26^th February at 11:30am. Come to the CBBC Hall for a Trivial Pursuit Afternoon and bring lunch to share. Contact Anneli on 0427 795 112 if you are interested.

OUR SOS OUTING in April is on Thursday 30th at 11am. Due to the current financial situation, we aren’t going to Wildlife HQ. Instead, we will meet at Duck Pond Park on The Avenue Peregian Springs and have a Sausage Sizzle. Please bring chairs and drinks and $5 pp and contact Anneli on 0427 795 112 (for catering purposes) 

This Ministry began in 2005. The Church was participating in “40 Days of Purpose” and two ladies (Kate Burdorf and Joy Thompson) realised that by using their favourite hobby they could reach out to other women in the community and quietly spread God’s message. It started as a small group of 6-8 women from the church, plus friends. The group grew as others responded to the advertisements in the local papers and businesses, and as enthusiasm grew it met weekly rather than fortnightly. Coolum Beach Quilters meets every Thursday 9am-noon in the church hall. $2 each week, with tea and coffee provided. Lots of chatting, always learning.
