Pastor John has been married to Shauna for 30 plus years. They have 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren.

Harrison has been married to Jess since November 2017.

Elders

John Beaumont has been married to Margaret for 50 years, they moved to the Sunshine Coast from Adelaide and have been attending Coolum Beach Baptist Church for 17 years.

During this time they have been involved in leadership roles and teaching Bible study groups.  They lived in Papua New Guinea for 18 years, working with the Iamalele people to translate the New Testament and other books into their language, as well as establishing a literacy programme through which hundreds of adults and children are learning to read and write.  They return to Papua New Guinea each year to mentor national Bible Translators from two language groups who have been translating the Old Testament and who are now revising their New Testaments.

John has also been an avionics engineer with a major airline and is currently a company director. John’s passion is to make the Scriptures easily understandable and relevant to people in their own culture and language, and as an elder of the church seeks to bring the liberating good news of Jesus Christ to the Coolum community.

Phil Roberts has been married to Sue for 40 years and they have a son, four daughters and 13 grandchildren, all living in Brisbane.

Phil and Sue have been regular CBBC attenders since 2015 after moving to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane. Both have both been actively involved in voluntary service at each of the churches they have attended with Phil being in church leadership roles since his late teens.

With more than 40 years experience in various business roles including 30 years in IT consulting and management, Phil is keen to see us all  use our vocational and life experience skills as well as our God-given gifts and talents in God’s service.

Phil is currently employed by Queensland Health and enjoys encouraging others through home group leadership and occasionally leading Sunday worship services. As an elder at CBBC he is acutely aware of leading prayerfully and needing God’s guidance in exercising wisdom and discernment as he contributes to church leadership matters.
